A loved institution of the Sandhills Sports Club, The Sandhills Bowls Club in Bundaberg is a double green that needed a structure to cover two greens, end on end and incorporate the existing clubhouse at the narrow end of the canopy as well as allow for a new club development. A structure was needed to protect bowlers from the heat and the summer storms of Queensland’s volatile Coral Coast. The design used was a traditional, tried and tested method; elegant and neat. The structure consisted of four fabrics with the valley cables tensioning beautifully. A first-class result for a first-class facility.
