We gather around fire in Winter and water in Summer, and it was a pleasure to help create a space where the Glen Eira Community can gather safely in the shade in the Victorian Summer. Opening in Summer 2024/2025, the Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool (CMSP) blends nostalgic charm with modern features, including a Learn to Swim Pool, warm water pool, spa, sauna, steam room, splash pad, and café. Beloved elements like the grassy hill, frog slide and diving boards remain and ensure familiarity, while the fully accessible, sustainable design reflects Glen Eira’s Leisure Centre’s “Every Body Welcome” philosophy. Sky Skills installed the shade over half the pool, the ring and the bright yellow umbrellas, and I love the joyful atmosphere they create.
