Sky Skills Industries has completed the installation of a striking new shade structure over the Footscray amphitheatre. Three overlapping canopy sections curve together like the petals of a shell, creating a sculptural centrepiece for the surrounding parkland. The clear, tensioned membrane is patterned with a geometric, leaf-inspired herringbone design formed by decorative seams, giving the canopy a distinctive character from above while allowing daylight to reach the seating area below. Covering more than 700 square metres, the structure provides weather protection while blending into its natural surroundings of sweeping concrete pathways and freshly landscaped gardens. The project showcases Sky Skills Industries’ expertise in complex, custom-engineered shade structures, delivering a durable and visually impressive space for the Footscray community to gather and enjoy.
